ખ્રિસ્તમાં વ્હાલા ભાઈ-બહેન,
આજની આ વિકટ પરિસ્થિતિમાં વિશ્વભરની માનવજાત ચિંતિત છે. અત્યારે સ્વાસ્થ્ય અને આરોગ્યરક્ષણ વ્યવસાય સાથે જોડાયેલા ભાઈ-બહેનો અથાગ પરિશ્રમ વેઠીને પંડની ચિંતાને કોરાણે મૂકીને પીડીત લોકોની સારવાર કરી રહ્યા છે. દુનિયાભરના સત્તાધારિઓ પણ પોતાના પંથકના લોકોની મદદ અર્થે રાત-દિવસ જજૂમિ રહ્યા છે. વૈજ્ઞાનિક અને સંશોધકો આ વિકરાળ વિષાણુને નિયંત્રણ હેઠળ લાવી એને નેસ્તનાબૂદ કરવા સતત અવનવા અખતરા કરી રહ્યા છે. બાળકોથી માંડી વૃદ્ધ ઘર બહારની પ્રવૃત્તિઓ થી અલિપ્ત થઈ પોતપોતાના મકાનમાં આશરો લઈ રહ્યા છે. જે કાલ સુધી ઘર હતું, જ્યાં એક ધબકતું, કિલ્લોલ કરતું, ચિંતારહિત કુટુંબ, ઈશ્વરે સર્જેલ સૃષ્ટિ અને સમૃદ્ધિનો ઉપભોગ માણી રહ્યું હતું. આપણા જ પોતાના ઘરના આત્મજનોએ એકબીજાથી અંતર રાખવું પડે છે. પોતાનાં જ બાળકોને વહાલ કરવા પર નિયંત્રણ આવી ગયું છે. પતિ-પત્ની એક છત નીચે હોવા છતાં દૂરતા વેઠી રહ્યા છે. આપણું પોતાનું ઘર આમ જાણે આશ્રયસ્થાન બની ગયું છે.
દુન્યવી માનવીએ પોતાની બુદ્ધિમત્તા વડે કંઈ કેટલાય અચંબિત કરી દેનાર આવિષ્કાર કર્યા, સુખ અને સગવડ માટે કેટકેટલાં ઉપકરણ સર્જ્યા. પણ આજની આ સ્થિતિમાં આપણે ફક્ત લાચારી, પરાધીનતા અને નિરાશ્રય ની અનુભૂતિ નો સામનો કરી રહ્યા છીએ. આવા કપરા સમયે આપણા પ્રયત્નો સાથે પ્રભુને પ્રાર્થાના, યાચના કરવાની, પ્રભુ તરફ પાછા વાળવાની ઘડી આવી ગઈ છે.
જુના કરારમાંથી યોનાના અધ્યાય ૩ અને કલમ ૧ થી ૧૦ નું વાંચન અને મનન કરીએ. (નિનવે નગરીનો હ્રદયપલટો). જેમાં પાંચમી કલમ પર ધ્યાન આપીએ – “૫ – નિનવેના લોકો ઈશ્વરનું કહ્યું માની ગયા. તેમણે ઉપવાસ જાહેર કર્યો, ને મોટા-નાના સૌએ તપનાં વસ્ત્રો ધારણ કર્યાં.” તપનાં વસ્ત્રોનો મતલબ કોઈ ખાસ પ્રકારના વસ્ત્રો કે પરિધાન નહીં. એનો મતલબ આપણને આઠમી કલમમાં મળે છે. “૮ – માણસો અને પશુઓ સૌ કોઈ તપનાં વસ્ત્રો ધારણ કરે, અને પૂરા દિલથી પ્રભૂને ધા નાખે. દરેક જણ દુષ્કૃત્યો છોડી દે, અને પોતાને હાથે થતો જુલમ બંધ કરે.” અને જ્યારે લોકોએ એ પ્રમાણે કર્યું તો એનું પરિણામ કલમ દસમાં જોવા મળે છે. “૧૦ – ઇશ્વરે જોયું કે તેમણે દુષ્કૃત્યો છોડી દીધાં છે, એટલે તેણે વિચાર બદલ્યો અને જે આફત ઉતારવાની ધમકી આપી હતી તે આફત તેમના ઉપર ઉતારી નહિ.”
તો આ કપરા સમયમાં આપણે પણ નિનવેના લોકોની જેમ દુષ્કૃત્યો છોડી દેવાનો નિર્ધાર કરી એને પાર પાડવા પ્રયત્ન કરવો પડશે. આપણા હાથે થતા જુલમ બંધ કરવા પડશે અને પૂરા દિલથી પ્રભૂને ધા નાખવી પડશે. અને ત્યારે જ ઇશ્વર આ વિટંબણાનો અંત આણશે.
માથ્થી ૧૮:૧૯-૨૦ “વળી હું તમને કહું છું કે, તમારામાંથી બે જણ કોઈપણ માગણી કરવામાં એકમત થશે તો તે માગણી પરમપિતા મંજૂર રાખશે. કારણ, જ્યાં બે કે ત્રણ જણ મારે નામે ભેગા થયા હોય ત્યાં હું તેમની સાથે હોવાનો જ.” તો વળી યાકોબ ૫:૧૪-૧૫ પ્રમાણે “તમારામાંનો કોઈ માંદો છે? તો તેણે સંઘના વડીલોને બોલાવવા, અને તેમણે પ્રભુને નામે એને તેલ લગાડી એને માટે પ્રાર્થના કરવી; એટલે શ્રદ્ધાભરી પ્રાર્થનાથી માંદો માણસ સાજો થઈ જશે, અને પ્રભુ એને બેઠો કરશે; અને જો તેણે કંઈ પાપ કર્યાં હશે તો તે માફ કરવામાં આવશે.”
ઈશ્વરના આશિર્વાદ અને માર્ગદર્શન વડે યુનાઈટેડ ગુજરાતી ક્રિશ્ચિયન્સ ઓફ અમેરિકાના વ્યવસ્થાપક સમિતિને એક ઉમદા વિચાર સ્ફૂર્યો કે “આપણે પણ બધા સાથે મળી પ્રાર્થના કરીએ.” અને એને અમલમાં મૂકવા કટિબધ્ધ બન્યા. આ વિચારને અનુસરી તેમણે નક્કી કર્યું કે સરકારના આરોગ્યને લગતા નિયમો અનુસાર આપણે સમૂહમાં ભેગા થઈ શકીએ એમ નથી તો માનવજાતે આવિષ્કાર કરેલા ઉપકરણોની સહાયથી અલગ અલગ ખ્રિસ્તી મંડળીઓ, ઉપાસકમંડળો અને સંસ્થાઓ એક થઈ પ્રભુને ધા નાખીએ.
શનિવાર, એપ્રિલ ની ચોથી તારીખે એક ઐતિહાસિક ઘટના ઉજાગર થઈ એના માટે પરમપિતા પરમેશ્વરનો આભાર. અમેરિકા અને કેનેડા સ્થિત વિવિધ ખ્રિસ્તી ગુજરાતી ઉપાસકમંડળ અને મંડળીઓ ઊપરાંત અમદાવાદથી સી.એન.આઈ. મંડળીના બિશપ શ્રી. સિલ્વાન્સ ક્રિશ્ચિયને ભેગા મળી ચાર કલાકની પ્રભુપ્રાર્થનાનું આયોજન યુટ્યુબના માધ્યમ દ્વારા કર્યું અને સફળતાપૂર્વક પાર પાડ્યું. આ ભગીરથ અને સુઆયોજીત અને સૌપ્રથમ ઓનલાઈન પ્રાર્થના સભાના સર્વ કાર્યકર્તાઓ અભિનંદન અને આભારને પાત્ર છે. અને ઓનલાઈન માધ્યમથી જોડાયેલા સર્વને પ્રભુ આશિર્વાદિત કરે અને આ સંપ અને સહકાર આમ કાયમ જળવાય રહે એવી પ્રાર્થના. પ્રભુ આ હાડમારીમાંથી સમસ્ત માનવજાતને ઉગારે એ પ્રાર્થના સાથે…..

The 10th annual Christmas program organized and managed by the youth wing of GCSofUSA.
“Gujarati Catholic Samaj of U.S.A” a not-for-profit organization established in 2010 had a grand and a highly successful celebration of “Christmas Garba / Dance Night 2019” planned and organized by Youth wing of Gujarati Catholic Samaj of USA.
GCS of USA’s vision is to bring our community together to unite, preserve and propagate and grow the rich cultural heritage of Gujarati Catholics from around the world. We organize various Programs, Events, Educational Fund-Raising Activities, and Education Developmental Projects for the community, Social Events; Various yearly Celebrations, Entertainments, Various Seminars on Social Awareness, Religious Awareness in Regards of Gujarati Speaking Catholics Residing in Unites States of America. To stay connected to families, relatives and friends back home to Gujarat, India.
On December 28th, 2019, Youth Wing of GCS of USA organized an annual Christmas program/Garba/Dance night. Fellow Gujarati Christians and friends from various Christian denominations were invited for the program. Key difference this year was newly formed Youth Wing of GCS of USA. The program was organized and managed by Youth wing from start to finish under guidance of the elders of the community. It was a great success.

To encourage people to arrive on time, early bird surprise was announced. Professional photographs and framed prints were presented to all early bird guests. Thank you Mr. Ketan Christian.
At 7 pm the evening many dressed in typical and colorful Indian costumes created a distinctive and homely environment that many Indians miss in USA.
Youth Wing made this event very interactive, connecting with the crowd such an enthusiasm and created a family get-together environment. Thank you Mr. Augustin Macwan for handling the photography and Mr. Ketan Christian for Videography.
Program commenced with a short speech by Mr. Shantilal Parmar (President of GCS of USA) followed by candle lighting ceremony. Ceremony included lightning of five candles resembling hope, joy, love, unity and peace.
Rev Fr. John Alvarado-Pastor of Church of the Sacred Heart concluded ceremony with powerful prayer. All members and guests together prayed “Our Father, who art in heaven” in Gujarati.
We welcomed our guests from all Christian denominations.

Our special guest was Rev Fr. John Alvarado- Pastor of Church of the Sacred Heart and rev. Fr. Pervaiz Indrias Parochial Vicar of Church of the Sacred Heart. Thank you, Rev Fr. John Alvarado, for allowing us to use hall and cafeteria.
We also honored sisters from Sr. Chandrika’s Congregation (Cenacle Sisters of Sacred Heart) Sr. Chetna and Sr. Anjana. They have various houses in India like in Chandigarh, Punjab , Patna, Chhattisgarh. Recently open house is Fairview in New Jersey on 1st September 2019.
Among the others who were honored included the following – Founder of Gujarati Catholic Samaj of USA- Dada (Mr. Joseph Parmer), President of GCS of USA, Mr. Shantilal Parmer, Chairman of GCS of USA Mr. Jagadish Christian ,Treasurer Eric Leo, GCS of USA committee members Amit Macwan, Deepak Parmer, Kokila Russell, Anita Parmer, Raj Macwan, Alex Rathod, tireless supporter Ketan Christian.
Despite Garba being the highlight of the event, talented youth wing also added fabulous performances including a group dance, solo dance and melodious solo singing.
Delicious full course dinner was served accompanied with an open floor karaoke.Catering from Kokila Russell. Also Thank you for Mango Lassi and Tea.
As Prakash Parmar, the Lead singer and all the musicians were making sure that the atmosphere stayed energetic and everyone was enjoying Garba. Mrs. Sapna Gandhi and Mrs. Neela Leo, as a designated judge were busy observing carefully to choose a male and a female winner best Garba players. Sejal, Sage, and Liza were declared winners in the female Garba category and 3 best male performers. Joy Christian, Eric Christian and Amit Macwan won the prizes. Female Winners were presented with $25.00 gift certificates and Male winners were presented with $25.00.
As the end was approaching, the energy level was at the pick and “Sanedo” and “ Punjabi” style was being enjoyed by everyone there. There were few who sat on the side watched this amazing display of celebrations.
TV Asia is a supporter of GCS of USA always cover our annual Christmas program. Mr. Madan Pal Singh of TV Asia covered the whole event. This year there was an addition of ITV Gold. Mr. Bhupendra Raja Bhaatty of ITV Gold also covered this event and a 10 minutes long segment was aired on “Vision of Asia – Voice of community on ITV Gold channel on December 31, 2019 and January 05, 2020.
Everyone left with joyful hearts and suggesting continuing this type of celebrations!

Gujarati Catholic Samaj of USA has been organizing the annual Christmas celebration since it’s was formed in 2010. The festivity and tradition continues at the eve of our 10th anniversary with new, fresh, energetic youth leadership. We are so pleased and very much proud of our youth wing who has taken up the responsibilities to arrange and manage the whole event.
“Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near when you will say, I have no pleasure in them” (Eccl. 12:1).

Silver Jubilee celebration of Priestly Ordination of Fr. Mari Joseph celebrated by Gujarati Catholic Samaj of USA on October 12, 2019.
Ten diocesan priests celebrated together the Silver Jubilee of their Priestly Ordination (1994–2019): Frs. Arulanandam Alankaram, Alex Clement and Savariraj Savrimuthu, from the archdiocese of Gandhinagar and Frs. Francis Kulandai, Lawrence Aruldoss, Lukas S., Maria Joseph, Peter Lopes, Xavier Amalanathan and Varuvel Gnanadhas from the diocese of Ahmedabad. As the ordination batch of 1994, they decided to have a common celebration of their Silver Jubilee on 27th January 2019 at Our Lady of Forsaken Shrine (Anathoni Mata Thirthadham), Khambholaj.
Fr. Mari Joseph has been visiting USA since 2009 and he has always spend few days with us and celebrated a mass for us. He was planning a visit to Lourdes to provide his services and then he included Canada and USA to his Itinerary. Fr. Salvador D’Britto also accompanied him to Canada and USA. He informed us that he will be with us for 3/5 days in New Jersey. So we decided to celebrate first ever 25th anniversary of a priest of our mother diocese Ahmedabad.
Mr. Ketan Christian arranged a church and a cafeteria hall for our celebration. On October 12, 2019 at 6:30 around 75 members of the Gujarati Catholic Samaj of USA gathered at The Church of the Sacred Heart, South Plainfield for a celebration of Eucharist. Fr. Mari Joseph was the main celebrant and Fr. Salvador D’Britto and Fr. Pervaiz Indrias, the parochial Vicar of The Church of The Sacred Heart, South Plainfield. On this auspicious occasion, Fr. Salvador D’Britto preached a meaningful and enriching homily. He explained that this type of celebration are not to glorify the priest or nun but God and only God.
At the end of the Eucharistic celebration all were asked to go to nearby school cafeteria for a dinner and felicitation program. The hall was nicely decorated with the a banner of Gujarati Catholic Samaj of USA and a special banner made for the 25th anniversary of priesthood ordination of Fr. Mari Joseph. People enjoyed the food and settled down. The program was started with welcome of Fr. Mari Joseph, Fr. Salvador D’Britto, Fr. Pervaiz Indrias, Mr. Shantilal Parmar, President of GCSofUSA, Mr. Joseph Parmar the founder and first president of GCSofUSA and a well-known preacher and bible study organizer Mr. Vinubhai Macwan from Vadodara. They all were greeted with a flower bouquet.
Fr. Mari Joseph was presented with a plaque of appreciation – “Fr. Mari Joseph Arogyapaa, Rejoice in your accomplishments! God is surely smiling on you today as you celebrate 25 years in service to our Lord! May God Bless you to continue His work in serving His people. Thank you for being part of our Community.” He was also gifted a wrist watch with his name and ordination date imprinted on it.
A nice decorative cake was cut by Fr. Mari Joseph with huge round of applause and cheers. He was very much pleased and appreciated the effort by GCSofUSA. He thanked everyone and assure all that he will cherish this moment throughout his life and will pray for all of the members of GCSofUSA. Fr. Salvador also thanked everyone and gave his blessings.
The program ended with a small 3 minutes of play played by four children Saloni, Alayana, Aaryan and Braxton called “ THREE DOLLARS WOTH OF GOD” .

ગુજરાતી ક્રિશ્ચિયન કમ્યૂનિટિ પિકનીક અને ક્રિકેટ ટુર્નામેન્ટનું ભવ્ય અને સફળ આયોજન.
“પ્રભુના લોક એકતામાં રહે તે કેવું સારું તથા શોભાયમાન છે.” ગીતશાસ્ત્ર ૧૩૩:૧
ઉપરના બાઇબલ વચનને શનિવાર, ઑગસ્ટની ૨૪ તારીખે યોજાએલ ગુજરાતી ક્રિશ્ચિયન કમ્યૂનિટિ પિકનીક અને ક્રિકેટ ટુર્નામેન્ટ દ્વારા સાર્થક થતું જોયું અને જાણ્યું. બે વર્ષ પહેલાં કનાન ચર્ચના ભાઈ રોજર, ભાઇ રવિ અને પાસ્ટર પર્સી મેકવાને પિકનીક સાથે બે ચર્ચની ક્રિકેટ ટીમ વચ્ચે મુકાબલો ગોઠવ્યો હતો જેને સારી સફળતા મળી હતી. આ પ્રસંગમાંથી પ્રેરણા લઈને શ્રી. વિકે મકવાણાને એક ઉમદા વિચાર આવ્યો કે ટ્રાઈ-સ્ટેટ એરિયામાં ગુજરાતી ક્રિશ્ચિયન કમ્યૂનિટિ છૂટી-છવાઇ રહે છે. અને બધાં ખ્રિસ્તી હોવા છતાં પોતાના અલગ અલગ સંપ્રદાય સાથે સંકળાયેલા છે. આ સમગ્ર ગુજરાતી ખ્રિસ્તી સમુદાયને એક સાથે એક મંચ હેઠળ લાવવા છે અને એમ થયું કારણ ઈશ્વરની પણ ઈચ્છા એવી જ હતી.
મોટા વિચારો કરવા, સપનાં જોવાં એ જેટલું સરળ અને સહેલું છે અમલમાં મુકી સફળતાની પરાકાષ્ઠને પહોંચવું એ એટલું જ અઘરું છે. જેના માટે ધીરજ, વાત સમજાવવાની અને સમજવાની શિસ્ત, બહોળો અનૂભવ, વિવિધ પ્રતિભાશાળી વ્યક્તિઓ સાથેના સંબંધ વગેરેની આવશ્યકતા છે. હવે આટલા મોટા પાયાનું આયોજન એકલ પંડે અઘરું જ નહીં પણ અશક્ય છે. એક આર્કિટેક્ચર કદાચ એકલા હાથે કોઈ મોટી ઈમારતનું બ્લૂપ્રીન્ટ તૈયાર કરે એમ વિકે એ આ આખા કાર્યક્રમનું માળખું તૈયાર કરી દીધું. પણ એ ઇમારત પૂરી કરવા કડિયા, પ્લમ્બર, ઈલેકટ્રિશ્યન, કારપેન્ટર વગેરેની જરૂર તો પડે જ.
વિકે મકવાણા કે જેઓ મુળ પાળજ, પેટલાદના વતની છે અને વર્ષોથી ફિલાડેલફિયા – GCFP ના સભ્ય છે તેમણે નીચેના ગુજરાતી ચર્ચ-સંગઠનોનો સંપર્ક કરી પોતાની યોજના સમજાવી તો એક અવાજે બધાએ એને વધાવી લીધી અને સંપૂર્ણ સહકારની બાંહેધરી આપી.

ટીમનું નામ UGC – United Group of Community અને “પ્રભુના લોક એકતામાં રહે તે કેવું સારું તથા શોભાયમાન છે.” – ગીતશાસ્ત્ર ૧૩૩:૧ એ આ ટીમનું આધાર વચન આપવામાં આવ્યું.
આ ટીમમાં નીચેના સભ્યો જોડાયા અને ખભે થી ખભા મિલાવી ને બહુ જ ઉત્સાહ થી કામે લાગી ગયા.

આ યોજના પ્રમાણે હાજર થનારી બધી પેઢીઓને ધ્યાનમાં રાખી અલગ અલગ પ્રવૃતિઓનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. ક્રિકેટ એક એવી રમત છે જે બાળકોથી માંડી મોટી ઉંમરના સ્ત્રી-પુરૂષો રસપૂર્વક માણતા હોય છે. સાથે સાથે કોથડા-દોડ, લીંબુ-ચમચી દોડ, ત્રણ પગની રીલે દોડ, વોલિબોલ, બેડમિન્ટન, વગેરે રમત રમવાની ગોઠવણ કરવામાં આવી હતી અને પરમેશ્વરની આભારસ્તુતિનું આયોજન સાથે સાથે હાજર સૌને સવારનો નાસ્તો, બપોરનું ભોજન અને સાંજનું વાળું વિના મૂલ્યે પુરું પાડવામાં આવ્યું હતું.
આટલા મોટા પાયા પર થનારા કાર્યક્રમનો ખર્ચ પણ એટલો મોટો જ હોય એ સ્વાભાવિક છે પણ ટીમની હાકલ પડી અને સમાજના ઉદાર લોકોએ આર્થિક સહાય પૂરી પાડી. લેખની મર્યાદાને ધ્યાનમાં રાખી ફક્ત મુખ્ય દાનવીરોના નામનો ઉલ્લેખ યોગ્ય રહેશે. કોકિલા અને બકુલ ફ્રેન્ક ૫૦૦ ડોલર, જોનાથન બર્ક્લે ૫૦૦ ડોલર, ડો. વિજય રોય ૫૦૦, નિલેશભાઇ ૩૦૦, ટિનિબેન ૨૫૦ ડોલર, સિલાસભાઈ ગોહિલ ૨૦૦ ડોલર, સાથે બીજા ઘણા બધાએ પોતાની યથાશક્તિ પ્રમાણે દાન આપ્યું. સૌ દાનવીરોનો પુષ્કળ આભાર અને પરમપિતા પરમેશ્વર તેઓને પુષ્કળ આશિર્વાદ આપે.
માર્ચ મહિનાથી શરૂ થયેલી આ ચળવળ આખરે શનિવાર, ઑગસ્ટની ૨૪ તારીખે આખરી તબક્કામાં પહોંચી. સવારના સાડા છ વાગે મુખ્ય કાર્યકરો અને મોટી સંખ્યામાં સાથીદારો સાથે એડિસનમાં આવેલા રૂઝવેલ્ટ પાર્ક માં નિયત પિકનીક સ્થળ ગ્રોવ-૨અ પર પહોંચી બેનર લગાવી, ટેબલ સેટ કરી સવારના નાસ્તાની ગોઠવણ શરૂ કરી દીધી. નાસ્તામાં ગરમાગરમ ભજીયા સાથે ચા અને કોફી તૈયાર થવા લાગ્યા. બીજી તરફ જ્યાં ક્રિકેટ ટુર્નામેન્ટ યોજાવાની હતી તે મેદાન પર કારપેટ, સ્ટમ્પ, બાઉન્ડ્રીની નિશાનીઓ લગાવવાનું કામકાજ ચાલતું હતું. સાત વાગ્યાથી લોકો આવવા લાગ્યા અને આઠ વાગ્યા સુધીમાં તો આ સંખ્યા ૩૦૦ ને પાર કરી ગઈ.
આ ટુર્નામેન્ટમાં ટ્રાઈ સ્ટેટમાંથી ૬ ટીમોએ ભાગ લીધો હતો. એક ટીમ ખાસ કેનેડાથી પણ જોડાઈ હતી અને અલગ અલગ રાજ્યોમાં ઉચ્ચત્તમ અભ્યાસ અર્થે આવેલા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ પણ પોતાની ટીમ સાથે હાજર હતા. આમ નીચે પ્રમાણેની આઠ ટીમોએ ઉત્સાહપૂર્વક અને ખેલદિલિ સાથે ભાગ લીધો હતો.

દરેક ટીમની અલગ અલગ કલરની જર્સી ટુર્નામેન્ટના લોગો અને પાછળના ભાગ પર દરેક ખેલાડીના નામ અને બંન્ને બાંયો પર ભારત અને અમેરિકાના ધ્વજ સાથેની અગાઉથી તૈયાર કરવામાં આવી હતી. ઉપરાંત અમ્પાયરો અને સ્વયંમસેવકો માટે પણ અલગ કલરની જર્સી બનાવડાવી હતી. આ બધીજ જર્સી ઈન્ડિયાથી મંગાવવામાં આવી હતી અને શ્રી. વિકે મકવાણા અને તેમના પિતા શ્રી. ખુશાલબાઈ મકવાણાએ એને તૈયાર કરવામાં ભારે જહેમત ઉઠાવી હતી. બધી ટ્રોફીસની સ્પોન્સરશીપ ભાઈ રોજર અને કુટુંબ તરફથી આપવામાં આવી હતી. એક તરફ નાસ્તાનો કાર્યક્રમ ચાલુ હતો તો ક્રિકેટના મેદાન પર પરમપિતાના આશિર્વાદ અને અભાર સાથે ટુર્નામેન્ટની શરૂઆત કરવામાં આવી. ક્રિકેટ ની સાથે BNUMC ચર્ચના રિજોઇશ પ્રવાસી, પિંકિ ચૌહાણ, નિમ્મિ થોમાસ, રુપલ ક્રિશ્ચિયને બાળકોની રમતો કોથડા-દોડ, લીંબુ-ચમચી દોડ, ત્રણ પગની રીલે દોડ પણ રમાડવાની શરૂ કરી દીધી હતી.
સ્પિન વ્હિલ એપના આધારે પહેલી ચાર મેચ માટે ટીમની જોડી બનાવવામાં આવી. એમાંથી ચાર વિજેતા ટીમ વચ્ચે બે સેમિફાઈનલ રમાશે અને અંતે ફાઈનલ એવું નક્કી કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું.

આ ચાર મેચના અંતે ક્રિકેટને થોડી વાર સ્થગિત કરવામાં આવી અને એકઠા મળેલા બધાંને પ્રાર્થના સભામાં જોડાવા વિનંતી કરવામાં આવી.
શ્રીમતી કલ્પના ક્રિશ્ચિયને બાઇબલ વાંચન કર્યુ હતું.
શ્રીમતી ક્લેરિસ ક્રિશ્ચિયને પ્રાર્થના કરાવી હતી.
શ્રી. જયંતી કારપેન્ટરે સુંદર શુભસંદેશ આપ્યો હતો.
શ્રી. વિકે મકવાણાએ આ પિકનિક નો હેતુ સમજાવ્યો હતો.
શ્રી. પર્સી મેક્વાને આઠેય ક્રિકેટ ટીમો ને આગળ બોલાવી સર્વનું સન્માન કર્યુ હતુ. સાથે સાથે આયોજક ટીમ ને પણ બોલાવી તેમનું પણ સન્માન કર્યું હતુ.
શ્રી. સેમસન ક્રિશ્ચિયને આભારવિધિ કરી હતી.
રેવ શ્રી જય કિમે બપોરના ભોજનની પ્રાર્થના કરી હતી
છેલ્લે રેવ ડો. દિનકર ટેલટે આશિર્વચન ઉચ્ચાર્યા એ કરી પછી સૌ કોઈ પિકનીક સ્થળ તરફ વળ્યા જ્યાં સ્વાદિષ્ટ ભોજનથી તૃપ્ત થયા. બાળકો માટે ખાસ પિઝાની પણ વ્યવસ્થા કરવામાં આવી હતી.
ભોજન પછી ક્રિકેટ ટુર્નામેન્ટની બે સેમિફાઈનલ રમાઈ જે બહુજ રોચક અને રસાકસી ભરી હતી.

આ બીજી સેમિફાઈનલ બહુજ રસાકસી ભરી રહી અને આખું સ્ટેડિયમ પોતાની સીટ પરથી ઊભા થઈને બહુ આનંદ લીધો. આંતરરાષ્ટિય નિયમો અનુસાર સુપર ઓવર રમાડવામાં આવી.

દરેક મેચ આઠ ઓવરની હતી. પણ જ્યારે સેમિફાઈનલ પૂરી થઈ ત્યારે ધાર્યા કરતાં મોડું થઈ ગયું હતું તો ફાઈનલ ફક્ત એક જ ઓવરની રમાડવામાં આવી.

આ રીતે જોગાનુજોગ બ્રુકલિનની બે ટીમ એકબીજા સામે ફાઈનલ રમ્યા અને બીએનયુએમસી ટીમ ૨૦૧૯ ચેમ્પિયન બની.
રનર્સ અપની ટ્રોફી શ્રી. જોસેફ પરમારના હસ્તે અને વિજેતાની ટ્રોફી પાસ્ટર શ્રી.પર્સી મેકવાન અને શ્રી. વિકે મકવાણાના હસ્તે આપવામાં આવી હતી.
દિવસ ઓસરી રહ્યો હતો અને ઉજાસ અને અજવાળું વિખરાઈ રહ્યા હતા. સાંજના વાળા તરીકે સમોસા, ખિચડી/કઢી તૈયાર હતાં. ડોલીબેને ભોજન પર પ્રાર્થના કરાવી હતી. જે લોકો ખાઈ શક્યા એમણે ખાધું, નહીં તો તેઓ પોતાની સાથે લેતા ગયા.
એકબીજાના સહકાર અને સમજૂતી વગર આટલો સફળ કાર્યક્રમ અશક્ય છે. ઘણા બધા લોકોએ પડદા પાછળ રહીને પુષ્કળ મહેનત કરી એ સૌને ઈશ્વર આશિર્વાદિત કરે. રાજ મેકવાને ઓડિયો સીસ્ટમની વ્યવસ્થા કરી હતી અને કિફાયત ભાવે ફૂડની વ્યવસ્થા પણ કરી હતી. ભાઈ નિલેષે ડીજે ભુમિકા સારી રીતે ભજવી હતી. આ આખા કાર્યક્રમને કેમેરામાં કંડારવાની અને સોશિયલ મિડિયા પર પ્રકાશિત કરવા બદલ ફોટોગ્રાફર પૉલનો આભાર. આખા કાર્યક્રમમાં જરૂરી સામાન, ચેર, ટેબલ, પ્લેટ, ચમચી વગેરે એકત્ર કરી યુ-હૉલ ટ્રકને ફિલાડેલફિયાથી હંકારી લાવી ગોઠવવા સુધીની બધી જવબદારી માટે ભાઈ નિક્સન અને દિકરા નેવિલનો આભાર. સ્વંયસેવકો તરીકે નિક્સન ક્રિશ્ચિયન, સ્ટીવનસન બોરસદા, દીપક રાનાદિવ, રિજોઇશ પ્રવાસી, નિમ્મિ થોમાસ, ઇવાન્શ ગોહિલ, મમતા સાવન, જેનિફર રાનાદિવ, કલ્પના ક્રિશ્ચિયન, રુપલ ક્રિશ્ચિયન, રોમા ફ્રેન્ક, નેવિલ ક્રિશ્ચિયન, અમુલ ચૌહાણ, પિંકિ ચૌહાણ, શિલ્પા મક્વાણા, નિલેશ ક્રિશ્ચિયન, રોબિન રાઠોડ, પિંકેશ રાઠોડ, મિતેશ કોન્ટ્રાકટર વગેરે એ પણ પુષ્ક્ળ જહેમત ઉઠાવી હતી. સર્વે નો આભાર.
આ રીતે એક વ્યક્તિની કલ્પના, વિચાર, સ્વપ્ન એક અવિસ્મરણીય, ઐતિહાસિક ઘટના બની ગઈ. આ પ્રસંગ યોજવાના વિચારથી લઈને આ પ્રસંગની પૂર્ણાહુતી પર્યંત પરમેશ્વરનું અપાર ઐશ્વર્ય એને સજાવતું રહ્યું, અજવાળતું રહ્યું. લગભગ ૬૧૦ કરતાં પણ વધારે સંખ્યામાં હાજર રહેલા સર્વ ભાઈબેનોએ આખા પ્રસંગના ભરપેટ વખાણ કર્યા. કેટલાક જૂના સંબંધો આળસ મરડી નવા જોમથી જાગી ગયા તો કેટલાક નવા સંબંધોએનો જન્મ થયો. સુંદર અને સફળ આયોજન માટે આયોજકોનો આભાર માનતા લોકો થાકતા ન હતા. જુદા જુદા ચર્ચના, જુદા જુદા ગામના, નાની મોટી ઉંમરના, તંદુરસ્ત અને શારીરિક અક્ષમતાથી પીડાતા બહેનો અને ભાઈઓ બધાંએ આનંદ કર્યો અને ઐક્યતા અનુભવી.
આ પ્રસંગનું ટીવી કવરેજ અહીંની પ્રખ્યાત ચેનલ “ટીવી એશિયા” દ્વારા કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. અને આખા દિવસના વિવિધ પ્રવુત્તિઓને આવરી લેતો ૬ મિનિટ અને ૫ સેકન્ડનો સંક્ષિપ્ત હેવાલ તેમના દૈનિક પ્રસારીત કાર્યક્રમ “કોમ્યૂનિટી રાઉન્ડઅપ” માં સમાવવામાં આવ્યો હતો. જેનું પ્રસારણ શુક્રવાર, ઑગસ્ટની ૩૦મી તારીખે સાંજે ૬:૩૦ વાગે કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. ટીવી એશિયાના ચેરમેન પદ્મશ્રી. એચ. આર. શાહ અને તેમની ટીમનો ખૂબ ખૂબ આભાર.
ઇશ્વરની કૃપાથી આવતા વરસે ફરી મળીશું ત્યાં સુધી સુખી રહો, તંદુરસ્ત રહો અને ઇશ્વરના સાનિધ્યમાં રહો.

ઉપરના બાઇબલ વચનને શનિવાર, ઑગસ્ટની ૨૪ તારીખે યોજાએલ ગુજરાતી ક્રિશ્ચિયન કમ્યૂનિટિ પિકનીક અને ક્રિકેટ ટુર્નામેન્ટ દ્વારા સાર્થક થતું જોયું અને જાણ્યું. બે વર્ષ પહેલાં કનાન ચર્ચના ભાઈ રોજર, ભાઇ રવિ અને પાસ્ટર પર્સી મેકવાને પિકનીક સાથે બે ચર્ચની ક્રિકેટ ટીમ વચ્ચે મુકાબલો ગોઠવ્યો હતો જેને સારી સફળતા મળી હતી. આ પ્રસંગમાંથી પ્રેરણા લઈને શ્રી. વિકે મકવાણાને એક ઉમદા વિચાર આવ્યો કે ટ્રાઈ-સ્ટેટ એરિયામાં ગુજરાતી ક્રિશ્ચિયન કમ્યૂનિટિ છૂટી-છવાઇ રહે છે. અને બધાં ખ્રિસ્તી હોવા છતાં પોતાના અલગ અલગ સંપ્રદાય સાથે સંકળાયેલા છે. આ સમગ્ર ગુજરાતી ખ્રિસ્તી સમુદાયને એક સાથે એક મંચ હેઠળ લાવવા છે અને એમ થયું કારણ ઈશ્વરની પણ ઈચ્છા એવી જ હતી.
