Mr. Gabriel J Christian, elder brother of Fr. Robert Parmar, organized a small function at “Premal Jyoti” Chapel on September 10, 2015 for a release of a booklet “આપણા વિદ્યમાન સ્પેનીશ ધર્મગુરૂઓની કહાણી” edited and published by a three member team comprised of Mr. Jayanti Dabhi, Mr. Nagin Makwana and Mr. Gabriel J Christian. Along with a small group of well-wishers, Fr. Francis Parmar, Fr. Vally Dias and Fr. Fernando Franco were present to grace the occasion.
This is a short and sweet, personal and emotional, dedicated committed booklet. It indeed enlightens and inspires, invites and delights the readers. It makes an interesting reading. Congrats to those who worked hard to bring it out and feelings of gratitude to all our Spanish veterans who have given their best in every field possible to the sons and daughters of Gujarat.
Thank you Spanish missionaries for your dedicated services. The Gujarati Christian community will always cherish your sacrifice and service.
From the beginning of August we find “back to school” banners and advertisement all around. The sun and fun ends when school year starts. Come September and all the schools and colleges opens the doors for students. We do all the preparation specially books as per curriculum.
સપ્ટેમ્બર શરૂ થતાં જ અહીં અમેરિકા ખાતેની લગભગ બધીજ શૈક્ષણિક સંસ્થાઓનું નવું સત્ર શરૂ થઈ જાય છે. ઓગષ્ટની શરૂઆતથી શાળા-કોલેજને લગતી સામગ્રી મેળવવા માટે બધા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ અને એમના વાલીઓ તૈયારી કરતા હોય છે. સૌથી અગત્યનું હોય છે અભ્યાસક્રમના પુસ્તકો મેળવવાનું.
જ્યારે ભણવાનું પૂરુ થાય ત્યારે એમ લાગે કે – છુટ્યા – પણ જીવનમાં નવું જાણવા, નવા ફેરફાર સાથે તાલ મેળવવા, નોકરીમાં બઢતી મેળવવા વગેરે કારણોસર આપણે નવું ભણવું પડે છે, પરીક્ષા આપવી પડે છે.
આજ રીતે જ્યારે ગુજરાતથી નવા વસાહતીઓ અમેરિકાને પોતાની કર્મભૂમિ બનાવવા આવે છે ત્યારે તેમણે પણ અમુક પરીક્ષાઓમાંથી પસાર થવું પડે છે. પોતાની આવડતને અનુરૂપ અમેરિકામાં કામ કરવાનું પ્રમાણપત્ર મેળવવું પડે છે – વાળ કાપવાથી માંડી બધાં કામ માટે! આ ઉપરાંત સૌથી પહેલાં વાહન (કાર) ચલાવવાનું લાયલન્સ મેળવવાની પરીક્ષા. અને પાંચ વરસના વસવાટ બાદ અમેરિકાનું નગરિત્વ મેળવવા માટે ફરી પાછી પરીક્ષા.
મારા પિતા અને જન્મજાત શિક્ષક શ્રી.જોસેફ પરમાર ઉપર જણાવેલી બે મહત્વપૂર્ણ પરિક્ષાઓ સારી રીતે પસાર કરી શકે એની સમજ આપતા પુસ્તક બહાર પાડીને નવા ગુજરાતી વસાહતીઓને વરસોથી મદદરૂપ થઈ રહ્યા છે. અમેરિકાસ્થિત લોકો ગુજરાતની સંસ્કૃતિ, પરંપરા, સાહિત્યને જાળવવાના અને ઉજાળવાના ઘણા પ્રયાસો કરે છે. એમાંનો એક છે નાટ્ય મહોત્સવ. “ગુજરાત દર્પણ” ના શ્રી. સુભાષ શાહ, “ગુજરાત ફાઉન્ડેશન” ના શ્રી. કૌશિક અમિન અને “શાકુંતલ આર્ટ્સ” ના શ્રી. શૈલેષ ત્રિવેદી ના સહયોગથી યોજાતો કાર્યક્રમ. આ કાર્યક્રમનો અહેવાલ અમેરિકાસ્થિત સાહિતકાર શ્રી.હરનિશ જાનીએ પોતાની કટારમાં આલેખ્યો છે. આ લેખમાં શ્રી. જોસેફ પરમારના પુસ્તકો નો ઉલ્લેખ “ગુજરાત મિત્ર” સામયિકના કટાર લેખક શ્રી. હરનિશ જાનીના આજના આ લેખમાં જોવા મળે છે. તો વાંચો એ આખો અહેવાલ………………
