Fr. General has appointed Fr. Durai Fernand the next Provincial Superior of the Gujarat Jesuit Province.

Fr. General has appointed Fr. Durai Fernand, born on May 20, 1963, presently Province Consultor of Gujarat Province, Superior and Principal of St. Xavier’s High School, Gandhinagar, as the next Provincial of Gujarat Province. Before that he was a Superior and Principal of Loyola School, Ahmedabad from 1996 to 2016. He will assume office on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. Our prayerful best wishes to Fr. Durai for his new ministry as Provincial.
A sincere thank you to the outgoing Provincial Fr. Francis Parmar for his fantastic tenure.

The Silver Jubilee ceremony was held on March 26, 2018 for Nirmal Miriam Primary School, Ankleshwar. Fr. Francis Parmar The Provincial of The Society of Jesus, Gujarat was the chief guest. A 94 page souvenir was published on this occasion. Please click on the second picture to read.

Mr. Gabriel J Christian, elder brother of Fr. Robert Parmar, organized a small function at “Premal Jyoti” Chapel on September 10, 2015 for a release of a booklet “આપણા વિદ્યમાન સ્પેનીશ ધર્મગુરૂઓની કહાણી” edited and published by a three member team comprised of Mr. Jayanti Dabhi, Mr. Nagin Makwana and Mr. Gabriel J Christian. Along with a small group of well-wishers, Fr. Francis Parmar, Fr. Vally Dias and Fr. Fernando Franco were present to grace the occasion.

The diocese of Ahmedabad inaugurated the Year of Faith on 14th Oct. 2012 at St. Xavier’s Church, Gamdi-Anand. The individual parishes of the Ahmedabad diocese have started the inauguration from 11th Oct “The Year of Faith”.  His Lordship Bishop Thomas Macwan gathered the faithful, Religious and priests Rev. Fr. Pariza and and senior most Catechist Mr. Paulbhai unveiled the Logo of the year of Faith.
