Please pray for his family. Though it is a sad time but keep in mind that he would have wanted us to rejoice and celebrate his life just as it has been said to us in Luke 15, verse 32, ” But this was a day to be happy and celebrate. Your brother was dead, but now he is alive. He was lost, but now he is found.”

Kaka had one older sister, one older brother, and one younger brother. Kaka went to Dholka Boarding School in Dhokla, Gujarat. He then graduated from IP Mission High School in Ahmedabad. Following that, he studied Civil Engineering. Kaka worked as an architect in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation for more than thirty five years. While working as an architect, Kaka also ran his own construction business, SKJ Construction. Along with the numerous houses that he built, Kaka built three churches during this time; two in Maninagar, Beulah Church,St. Joseph’sChurch, and the third in Behrampura, Beersheba Church. He was dedicated to serving his community and was known to be an extremely hard worker and humanitarian. Kaka loved God and served at Simpson Memorial Church as their treasurer.

Luther married Marthaben Gohel, better known as Ma, in 1946 in Ahmedabad. They had five children, two girls followed by three boys. With the exception of his eldest son, Simpson, who passed away on June 4, 2016, his four living children, twelve grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren all reside in the greater Philadelphia area. Ma and Kaka took great pride in the higher education levels of their children and grandchildren. Ma and Kaka first visited America in 1978. They eventually moved to Philadelphia in 1989 and lovingly lived with their sons and grandchildren. They took care of the family business while helping raise their grandchildren. Kaka was actively involved with the Gujarati Christian Fellowship of Philadelphia and regularly gave sermons on Sundays. Kaka was a man of very strong character and determination. When he was young he loved playing and watching cricket, running, shot put throwing, and drawing. He also loved God, his churches, singing hymns, his family and most especially his grandchildren.
