The multi-cultural ministries of Metuchen Diocese has organized a pilgrimage to Basilica of the National Shrine of the immaculate Conception, Washington DC. This pilgrimage is sponsored by the Asian and Pacific Catholic Network (APCN) in collaboration with the USCCB’s Secretariat for Cultural Diversity. It is too sad to report that the founding parish priest of St. Joseph’s Church, Tarapur, Gujarat, Fr. Surai Manickam passed away today. He was only 45 years of age and was on his visit to a nearby village when he had a cardiac arrest. His parish was adopted by St. David’s parish in Maple, Canada as a sister-parish. Hon. Bishop Thomas Macwan of Ahmedabad Diocese has just attended the annual fund raising event organized by St. David’s Parish, Maple, Canada on March 01, 2014.
May God rest him in peace.
