Hon. Bishop Godfrey de Rosario was hospitalized but now he is in stable condition.

Bishop Godfrey de Rosario, Bishop of Vadodara was fallen from the stairs in the rectory. He was taken to the Sterling Hospital, Vadodara where he was treated. He is now out of ICU and resting in a private room under observation. He might be released tomorrow. We pray for your speedy recovery Bishop.

 

Bishop Godfrey de Rosario, SJ was born on September 13, 1946, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat state. He was ordained a priest of the Society of Jesus on April 22, 1978, and served as Provincial Superior of the Jesuits in Gujarat before his ordination as Bishop of Baroda (Vadodara) on December 28, 1997.

Bishop Godfrey de Rozario, SJ released Fr. Varghese Paul’s two new books in a large missionary gathering of Fathers and Sisters working in Baroda Diocese here at Vyara on July 26, 2012.
 
“I always read and appreciate Fr. Varghese writings. He writes in different Gujarati newspapers and magazines and he is widely read”, said Bishop de Rozario releasing the book.
 
Speaking about his two books Fr. Varghese said that “Navu Jivan, Navi Drushti” is a collection of 22 articles including on long speech given to college students at Visnagar. The book is published by secular publishers, Rannade Prakashan, Ahmedabad and priced `150/-.
The second book is the 3rd edition of a small book “Isu Mari-Tamari Nazare” which was originally a talk on Jesus Christ given to High School students and their teachers at Kim, Surat District. The book published by CISS, Ahmedabad is priced Rs.25/-. The Fathers and Sisters in the meeting welcomed the releasing of the book and burst into singing “Congratulations… Fr. Varghese” led by Fr. Joao Manuel Fernandes, the Co-coordinator of South Gujarat Missionary Meeting.
 
Fr. Varghese has written 42 books including 3 in English and 2 in Malayalam. The English and Malayalam books are the translations of Fr. Varghese Paul’s original writings in Gujarati.
