Dear Friends:
Greetings!

The South Asian National Caucus of the United Methodists (SANCUM) is planning to hold its national leadership training event and convocation in Brooklyn: Christ United Methodist Church, Seventh Avenue at 45th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11220 (Phone: 718-436-6606) from July 18-20, 2014.

This church has a high percentage of members of the Indian origin and they have invited us to join them in this celebration.

We will start with an informal gathering from Friday Noon till 2 P.M. and then the celebrations will begin at 3 P.M. with an Opening Worship and conclude on Sunday with community worship. I will send you the detailed agenda and the registration information as the dates get closer. We would be honored if you and your family would be able to join us.

I thought I should give you the dates of the Convocation to you a little early so that you may block the dates and plan to attend.

We are planning to rent a bus or a minivan from Chicago to go to New York with no cost to the South Asian United Methodist constituents. If you would like to ride with the group, please let us know before June 15th. If you would like to fly in, we are trying to give a scholarship assistance of $100 to the first ten adults and five youth.

The members of the Christ Church in Brooklyn, NY are providing free accommodation in their homes and all the meals will be served in the church’s fellowship hall. We are also trying to locate the best hotels close to the church for those who would like to find accommodation on their own. We will send you that information in coming weeks.

Please share this information with all the South Asian families in your church, district and conference. We sincerely hope and pray that you both will be able to join us.

If you have any question, please e-mail me or call me.

With kind regards,

He possessed great leadership ability. Even in his elderly years, he was quick to help and give direction to those around him as and when needed and in all kind of community problems. He played remarkable role in our community development. He served in Indian Railways for more than 38 years.

We have to take note that he was the person who initiated cooperative movement by establishing Baroda Catholic Co-operative Credit Society in early years. He will be greatly missed by the entire family and the community too.
