Celebration of the 17th Annual International Festival organized by the Holy Family Parish, Union City, NJ

The 17th Annual International Festival organized by the Holy Family Parish, Union City, NJ was held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Central Avenue between 32nd and 35th Streets. The Festival was begun with Mass at 10:30 a.m. and then move across the street for a fun- filled day. Family, friends and the entire neighborhood was present to share and enjoy the great diversity of cultures that make up this area.

 

There was something for everyone—- food, entertainment, music, arts & crafts, displays from many countries, and games for the children. People were dressed in their cultural attire and presented dance and music from their native countries.

 

Congratulation to Fr. Paco Legarra, OAR, Pastor of the Holy Family Parish and his team for doing a wonderful job year after year. Mr. & Mrs. Rita Kirit Jakaria & family are members of this parish for long time. They always setup a table with Samosa. Kimberly Jakaria and Sherlyn Parmar performed a Bollywood dance and all other Gujarati Christian community performed “SANEDO” dance.   

 

If you were there on Sunday, you must have enjoyed it and must be waiting for the celebration next year. If you weren’t there then you have missed lots of fun but you can plan to join us in September 2015.  Please come and enjoy a day outdoors in a family atmosphere.
